Western Australia-based Great Southern Fuels (GSF) and BP Australia have announced a five-year extension to their long-term partnership.

GSF and BP have been working together to service regional WA for over 33 years, with the partnership directly supporting communities through local investment and job creation.

This agreement also comes at a busy and important time as regional WA gears up for the harvest season.

Visiting WA, BP Australia President Andy Holmes met with Allan McWhirter, Great Southern Fuels Managing Director, in recognition of this exciting milestone.

“We are extremely pleased to continue to work together with GSF on this important partnership, and are excited by the legacy it will create for the region for many years to come,” said Holmes.

According to McWhirter and the team at GSF, “BP has been an integral part of the GSF growth strategy for several years now and with the renewed commitment of both parties, we look forward to continuing to build on our strong relationship with our customers in both regional and metropolitan WA.”

Under the extended agreement, GSF will continue to operate BP’s regional depot business in WA’s wheat-belt region.

GSF incorporates major depots at Katanning, Narrogin, Albany, Corrigin, Koorda, Wongan Hills, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Kewdale, Moora, Merredin, Jerramungup, Carnamah and other regional locations in WA.

GSF has grown from a one-truck operation started by the two directors of the company, Allan and Faye McWhirter, and now operates and/or supplies over 85 of the state’s rural BP retail outlets and delivers to metropolitan retail sites and BP commercial accounts.
