An armed robber dropped his gun and ran when police arrived at the Karalee service station he was holding up.
Police say the man, armed with a firearm, entered the service station on Junction Road just before 9am.
When police arrived the man allegedly dropped the weapon and fled on foot.
A cordon was established near the Warrego Highway while police conducted a search of the area, but the man could not be found.
