Police are searching for two stick-wielding men who stole cigarettes and cash from a service station in Rowville.

Police believe the same men could be responsible for a similar armed robbery at a service station in Cranbourne an hour later.

Knox CIU Senior Sergeant Neil White said yesterday at 1.35am, three men — two were armed with sticks or batons — arrived at the BP Service Station on Stud Rd and Kelletts Rd.

Sen-Sgt White said the third man took the store attendant into a side office, while the other two offenders forced open the register the stole cash and cigarettes.

The men used a bin and a milk crate from the store to transport the cigarettes.

Sen-Sgt White said the male store attendant wasn’t injured.

The men then fled on foot towards Lakeside Drive.

Police believe the same offenders then committed another armed robbery at the United Service Station in Cameron St, Cranbourne East an hour later.

Sen-Sgt White said he was not yet aware of any connection with previous cigarette burglaries in the east but urged anyone with information to contact police on 9881 7999 or Crime Stoppers.
