One of the biggest issues for retail members at the moment is the cost of EFTPOS transactions. ACAPMA has recently entered into a partnership with the Commonwealth Bank that provides our members with access to discounted rates for EFTPOS transactions and great deals on commercial and asset financing.

“Independent service station owners often tell us that one of their biggest challenges to maintaining a profitable operation is the cost of EFTPOS transactions,” ACAPMA CEO Mark McKenzie said.

“While oil company-operated sites (and those operated by the grocery majors) tend to enjoy the benefits of lower EFTPOS transaction fees negotiated with the big banks by their franchiser; smaller independent service station business do not get access to the same benefits.

“We thought it was about time independent service station operators got a better deal on EFTPOS rates and so we approached the Commonwealth Bank to see if we could level the playing field.”

The new rates apply to all merchant services and include a flat rate as low as 0.61% for credit card transactions and 7 cents per debit transaction.

But the benefits of the alliance with Commonwealth Bank aren’t simply limited to special rates on EFTPOS services, ACAPMA can now arrange for one of the Commonwealth Bank’s Business Bankers to talk to you about:

  • Day-to-day banking: Getting the right business accounts and payment solutions for your business.
  • Asset finance: Helping you buy equipment or vehicles via a customised repayment plan, so you can manage your cash flow and avoid eroding your working capital.
  • Commercial finance: Finding a product that meets your financial needs, including bank guarantees, cash advances, flexible loans, business lines of credit, business credit cards and overdraft facilities.
  • Investment: Assisting you with a variety of short, medium and long term investment opportunities to help cover cash-flow shortfalls, finance business expansion and build wealth for the future.

ACAPMA members are also entitled to a free Business Financial Health Check. A Business Banker will look at every aspect of your business to ensure you have just what you need for success.

The Commonwealth Bank deal is exclusive to ACAPMA members and is the first of a number of special member offers that will be rolled out to ACAPMA members over the next 12 months.

“We are committed to delivering bottom line benefits to our members and this new partnership with the Commonwealth Bank is a further example of our commitment,” Mark said.
