Police are investigating following an attempted armed robbery of a service station in Woodcroft last night.

Just after 10pm (Wednesday 27 May 2015), a 52-year-old man was working at a service station on Richmond Road when a man armed with a rifle approached a night service window.

Police have been told the armed man demanded cash and threatened the employee, before fleeing the scene empty handed.

The employee was uninjured during the incident.

Officers attached to Blacktown Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene.

As they continue their investigations, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.

He is described as being of African appearance, aged in his 20s, and was seen wearing a grey hooded jumper and a grey t-shirt.
