A woman has been charged after a counter was smashed and a staff member was hit with a baseball bat at a Gold Coast business yesterday.
Police were called to the Mermaid Beach business on the Gold Coast Highway around 9am yesterday, following reports it had been robbed and the glass counter had been smashed.
It was also reported that a female staff member had been struck with a baseball bat.
A sum of money was allegedly taken from the business however police later found there had been no robbery.
A 35-year-old Maudsland woman is expected to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on May 28.
The female staff member was not seriously injured.
