Detectives are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a service station on Old Logan Road early this morning.

Initial investigations indicate that around 12.45am two men entered the business with their faces concealed.

The attendant has noticed the two men and locked himself in an office room.

The two men have then approached the counter and attempted to take money from the cash register.

The men were unsuccessful and have left the premises.

It is believed that one of the men was armed with a gun.

Both men are described as being Caucasian in appearance and average height.

The male attendant was not physically injured during the robbery.

Investigations are continuing.
