ruckies will protest outside the head office of supermarket giant Coles highlighting the effects of transport cuts and the link road deaths.

Members of the Transport Workers’ Union will protest outside the Hawthorn East facility from 8am on Thursday and hear from speakers including family members of David Tagliaferri, who died in a truck crash.

Following the protest, members will attend a safety summit looking at why trucking is Australia’s deadliest job.

Comment is being sought from Coles, which has previously said it takes driver safety very seriously.
