A man will appear in court today over an alleged armed robbed in Granville at the weekend.

About 6.30pm on Sunday (31 May 2015), a man allegedly entered a petrol station on Blaxcell Street and threatened the attendant with a knife.

The man fled the location a short time later with cash and the attendant called police.

Officers attached to Rosehill Local Area Command commenced inquiries into the incident.

A crime scene was established at the premises and examined by forensic specialists.

Following further investigation police arrested a 27-year-old man at a shopping centre in Parramatta about 6.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 2 June 2015).

The man was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.

He has been refused bail and is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 3 June 2015).
