Police are investigating an armed robbery at a service station in Sapphire Beach, north of Coffs Harbour, this afternoon.

About 5.30pm (Tuesday 16 June 2015), a 21-year-old man was working at the service station on Solitary Islands Way, when two men entered.

The pair, allegedly armed with knives and with their faces covered, threatened the man, before fleeing with an amount of cash.

The attendant was not injured during the incident.

Police from Coffs Clarence Local Area Command arrived a short time later and conducted an extensive a patrol of the area, however the men could not be found.

A crime scene was established and investigated by specialist forensic officers.

Investigations into the incident are continuing and police would like to speak with two men who may be able to assist with inquiries.

Both men are described as wearing dark clothing, with their faces covered, and with a thin build. One is described as approximately 180 to 185cm tall, the other is described as 170 to 175cm tall.
