More than 100 truck drivers will rally at Coles in Sydney’s CBD to protest over the retailer’s supply chain practices.
The group, headed by the Transport Workers Union (TWU), will march about 10.30am on Thursday to protest over “relentless pressure” from the retail giant.
A TWU spokesman said evidence would be revealed that shows systematic breaches of Heavy Vehicle laws in the Coles supply chain.
At the protest, truckies will release 330 balloons to commemorate those killed every year in truck crashes on Australian roads.
Coles has previously said in response to the ongoing TWU campaign that it takes driver safety very seriously.
