UPDATE: THREE masked men used a tomahawk and pistol to terrorise store assistants and a customer at two service stations in Rosebud and Dromana early this morning.

Police say the men hit the Rosebud 7-Eleven first, springing from bushes and running into the Nepean Highway store after the doors were opened for a customer about 3am.

The men, who were well disguised and all wearing black, threatened the worker and customer and demanded cash and cigarettes, throwing the loot into a bin they were carrying.

The offenders then told the worker and customer to lie face down as they fled the store.

Police said the armed men then hit the Dromana 7-Eleven, on Point Nepean Rd, about 15 minutes later.

Rosebud crime investigation unit detective Sen-Constable Paul Smith said the offenders smashed security cameras at both stores, however there was footage of the robberies.

“The assistant at the Rosebud store was very shaken by the incident,” Sen-Constable Smith said.

Police found footprints leading from the bushes into the Rosebud store.

The Dromana 7-Eleven is only a few doors from the Dromana police station.

Police have urged the public to come forward with any information that may help them catch the three men, phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 FREE.
