Man, 20, faces court after Fairfield service station robbed
A man, 20, will face Fairfield Local Court today after a service station on Railway Pde was robbed last weekend.
Officers charged the man with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon and possessing an unauthorised firearm yesterday at Fairfield police station.
Police were called to the service station last Saturday after a number of men in a maroon car stole cash and petrol.
Officers will allege that after the car pulled up one man got out and began to pump petrol.
At the same time a man wearing a hood covering his face went into the service station and demanded cash.
He was joined by another man from the car who also demanded cash.
After the employee handed over an amount of money, the men ran to the car and drove away.
The car was later found abandoned a short distance from the service station.
Police say their investigation into the identity of other people involved continues.
Anyone with information is asked to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
