A BROADMEADOW service station has been robbed by a knife-wielding thief overnight.

Police said a man aged in his early 20s entered the Brunker Road service station near Nineways about 10.45pm on Monday.

The man produced a knife, threatening the console operator before fleeing on foot with a sum of cash.

Police are investigating.

The thief is described as about 170 centimetres tall with black hair and a thin build.

He was wearing blue shorts and a hooded jacket.
