CIGARETTES were stolen from a Narangba service station last night after it was robbed by three males, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
Around 9.45pm the males entered the Oakey Flat Road business, threatening a male employee. The man managed to retreat from the front counter after the males were momentarily distracted by a passing car.
They stole cigarettes before fleeing on foot.
Police patrols were quickly on the scene and officers began searching for the trio.
Polair 2 and a police dog unit were also called in to help in the search with a track leading police to an address in Kurara St, Narangba.
Police cordons were established with officers contacting the residence and asking the occupants to exit the house.
Two men and a woman did so and following investigations by police it was determined they were not involved in the incident.
Officers searched the property and yard before the police cordons were lifted. Officers continued to search the area however the males were not located.
One of the offenders is described as Caucasian, approximately 185cms tall wearing a black hooded jumper.
A second offender is described as 140 to 150cms tall and was wearing a grey hooded jumper. The third offender was approximately 160cms tall and was wearing a black hooded jumper.
No one was physically injured during the robbery and police investigations are continuing.
