POLICE are hunting for two thieves who stole a car parked at a petrol station and then later crashed it.
Moorabbin police have released pictures of a man and woman who allegedly drove off with a black VW Jetta which was stolen from a Moorabbin service station.
The duo pulled into the South Rd service station at 8.45am on Monday, September 7 in a blue Nissan Maxima sedan which police believe was stolen.
As they stopped, the female passenger jumped out and got into the unattended Jetta and drove off.
Police next saw the car two days later when it was involved in a crash at Frankston Railway Station.
Witnesses spotted a man and woman, believed to be the same pair who stole the car, leaving crash site and walking west along Beach St.
It’s believed the pair stole numerous items from the vehicle before leaving the scene.
Detectives have released images of two people they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
