A FIRE in a petrol station that forced the closure of Clarence St, Howrah, between River St and Silwood Ave tonight has been contained.
Four fire trucks attended the blaze at the United Service Station at 8.30pm.
It took firefighters just under an hour to extinguish the flames and ventilate the building. The fire was contained in the reception area of the petrol station. No injuries were reported.
The street was closed for just under an hour and a half while the fire was brought under control.
