A MAN has been charged after an armed robbery at a Hectorville service station and the assault of a police officer during his arrest.

Police will allege the man armed with a knife threatened staff while demanding cash and cigarettes at the Coles Express service station on Montacute Rd, just before 10.30pm on Tuesday.

The man fled the store but police found him on St Bernards Rd.

The knife used in the incident was recovered in a nearby park.

No one was injured during the robbery or the arrest.

A Salisbury East man, 22, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, state false name and address and two counts of aggravated assault police.

He was refused bail.

Meanwhile, a girl and a woman have been arrested after a robbery at a Fulham service station.

Police attended at the BP On The Run service station on Henley Beach Rd at 3.40am on Wednesday, following reports that two women had threatened staff and stolen cash.

No one was physically injured.

Police set up cordons and found the girl and woman nearby and recovered the stolen cash.

A Woodville West girl, 17, and a Western Australia woman, 27, were arrested and will be charged with aggravated robbery.
