THE BP service station on the Bruce Highway at Morayfield which has been shut since Monday will remain “closed until further notice”, according to a spokeswoman.

The spokeswoman confirmed a fire had occurred at the northbound station on the Bruce Highway on Monday morning and as a safety precaution, would remain closed until it was safe to resume normal proceedings.

The exit to the station, on the northbound lanes of the Bruce Highway, has been closed since the fire, with motorists unable to access the popular station.

Earlier this week the Moreton Bay Regional Council advised its Visitor Information Centre at the station would remain closed until the weekend.

BP has apologised for the inconvenience the closure has and will continue to cause and ensured customers that it will inform them when it reopens.
