Police are appealing for information from the public about an armed robbery of a service station at Greenfield Park.

A man armed with a rifle and with his face concealed entered the service station on Mimosa Rd about 4am on Wednesday.

He confronted and threatened an attendant, 23, and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The robber fled with a number of items and police were alerted.

Officers from Fairfield Local Area Command attended and have commenced inquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information is urged to come forward.
