Shell Australia has awarded Sodexo for the provision of offshore facilities management services for the Prelude Floating Liquefied NaturalGas (FLNG) facility with services to be delivered from South Korea to the Browse basin.
Prelude FLNG allows for the production, liquefaction, storage and transfer of LNG, LPG and condensate at sea, the first deployment of this technology by Shell Australia. Upon arrival in Australian waters, Prelude will moor 475km north-northeast of Broome.
Sodexo will implement its service offer, Offshore Life, which includes creating a comfortable and safe physical environment; providing technical services and administration support; and ensuring the health and wellbeing and ongoing social interaction of personnel.
The group will oversee the accommodation management, waste management, housekeeping and laundry services for the 600,000 tonne facility. It will also provide commissioning support in Geoje, South Korea, ensuring the living quarters are comfortable and to Australian safety standards.
Furthermore, Sodexo will take care of helideck administration and corrective and preventative maintenance in the galley, dining, accommodation and recreation areas, allowing Prelude technicians to focus on their core activities.
Guidance from nutritionists and wellness experts, the provision of dietician-approved meal options and relevant nutritional advice are also part of the program, Sodexo said.
