TWO teenagers have been charged over an armed robbery at a service station in Currambine on Wednesday.

Police will allege the teenagers, aged 17 and 19, entered the store on Sunlander Drive just after midnight and claimed to staff that they were armed.

They demanded money, but were refused, before they grabbed a number of items from the store and fled.

At about 4.20am, police were called to a report of a stealing incident near Mullaloo Beach and identified the two men from the Currambine holdup.

Police will also allege the 19-year-old assaulted a female police officer as he was being arrested.

The 17-year-old has been charged with aggravated armed robbery and obstructing a public officer and will appear before the Joondalup children’s court on November 17.

The 19-year-old has been charged with aggravated armed robbery, stealing, assaulting a public officer, and obstructing a public officer.

He will appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on Thursday.
