In December 2015 ACAPMA held a launch party for the Asia Pacific Fuel Industry Forum 2016 hosted by Norton Rose Fulbright and attended by over 40 businesses. Intended as the foremost event for the downstream petroleum industry in the Asia Pacific, the APFI Forum 2016 is an exciting reinvention of the ACAPMA National Conference & Expo – an industry event that has been conducted in various formats for almost 40 years within Australia.

The Asia Pacific Fuel Industry Forum (APFI Forum) will be held in Singapore between 13 and 15 September 2016, providing attendees with an opportunity to extend their stay by a few days to attend the 2016 Singapore Grand Prix held the weekend after the Forum.

The APFI Forum has been developed in recognition of the increasing links between the Asia Pacific market as a result of the changing structure of the petroleum industry within Australia.
“These changes mean that the future of Australian petroleum businesses (i.e. fuel importation, petroleum wholesale, petroleum retail, equipment suppliers and petroleum services providers) is increasingly tied to future developments in the wider SE Asian market”, said ACAPMA CEO Mark McKenzie.

At the same time, some SE Asian economies are preparing to deregulate their petroleum markets and potentially create new opportunities for Australian businesses for the supply of products and services.

“Accordingly, the APFI Forum 2016 is intended to open up dialogue between Australian petroleum businesses and their counterparts in SE Asia while still providing a forum for discussing of the contemporary issues facing the Australian market”, said Mark.
