A car stolen late last year from Gilles Plains, 15 kilometres north of Adelaide, has been used in two petrol drive offs and as a getaway car after a liquor store robbery.

SA Police said the white Holden ute was stolen on December 29, 2015 and was later used that day in a petrol drive off at Dry Creek.

Days later it was involved in a second petrol drive off at Wingfield.

On Wednesday, police attempted to stop the car at a driver testing station on Commercial Road, Salisbury North but the driver drove away from officers.

Police say later in the day it was used as a getaway car after people stole alcohol from a store in St Peters.

The car has a SA registration plate, S917-AXA, a large black stripe on the bonnet and a red painted tray area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police assistance line on 13 14 44.
