POLICE are searching for two people who held up a Baxter service station at gun point on Australia Day.

It’s believed a man and a woman both wearing motorcycle helmets and sunglasses entered the Shell service station at Grant Rd and Baxter-Tooradin Rd about 6.10pm.

Mornington Peninsula Criminal Investigation Unit detective Sergeant John Coburn said the female offender pointed a handgun at the store attendant and demanded money.

“They took a relatively small quantity of cash,” he said.

Both offenders fled the scene on a motorbike

“The attendant is obviously quite traumatised by having a firearm pointed at him,” Sgt Coburn said.
