Police are hunting a man and a woman who waved a pistol at a terrified service station attendant during a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style robbery before fleeing on a motorcycle.

The bandits barged into the Baxter Service Station south of Melbourne shortly after 6pm on Australia, pointed the gun at the attendant and demanded cash.

Security footage shows a woman wearing a grey hoodie and black motorcycle helmet aggressively wave the gun at the shop attendant as her partner stands nearby.

The couple stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the till then fled the scene on a motorbike.

As the woman brandishes the revolver threateningly, the man is pictured standing casually with his hands on his hips, then leaning on a display counter in the store.

Police are appealing for public assistance to assist with their hunt for the bandits.
