THE price of fuel will be cheaper on Monday than it has been for more than a decade, with a litre of unleaded petrol costing as little as 95.9 cents at some service stations.

A spokesman for Fuelwatch said the last time prices were lower across the entire metropolitan was on January 28, 2005, when the best price was 88.8 cents a litre.

The best price locally on Monday would be 95.9 cents a litre at the Puma outlets in Barragup (715 Pinjarra Road) and Meadow Springs (25 Meadow Springs Drive).

The BPs at Mandurah Forum and Silver Sands would be close behind, at 96.9 cents a litre for unleaded.

The best price for diesel was still the Placid Ark Roadhouse in Coolup, which was pumping at 99.9 cents a litre.

The most expensive unleaded petrol in the region for Monday was 164.9 cents a litre at The Canal Shop in South Yunderup.
