TASMANIA’s peak motoring body and Australia’s largest independent fuel network have joined forces to help members access cheaper fuel prices.

For two months from March 15, RACT members will be offered an 8 cents per litre discount at all of United Petroleum’s 38 Tasmanian outlets.

Members will then be offered a 6 cent per litre discount on a permanent basis.

“This discount will be available from 15 March at all of our Tasmanian sites ensuring that we can supply the most competitively priced fuel across the state and in key locations where RACT members need it,” United Petroleum Chief Operating Officer David Szymczak said.

“Simply present your RACT-United Card at one of our stores when purchasing fuel to save at the bowser.”

RACT Chief Executive Officer Harvey Lennon said his members had consistently reported high petrol prices are a key concern.

“We get calls daily from people frustrated about the differential between Tasmanian prices and those on the mainland,” he said.

“The discounted price that will be available to our 177,000 members will help to address their concerns.

“I think the offer will be very well received.”
