BLACKTOWN motorists are getting plenty of bang for their buck with petrol prices at lows not seen in years.

Petrol was as cheap as 93.9 cents a litre today with the Shell, Metro and BP service stations on Sunnyholt Rd one of the most affordable spot to fill up.

The cost of fuel across Sydney has dropped below 95 cents this week thanks to declining global oil prices and the savings are making it all the way to the bowser.

“I didn’t think I would ever see petrol drop below $1 a litre again in my lifetime,” Rouse Hill resident Neil Wentzel said while filling up at the Shell petrol station on Sunnyholt Rd.

“After years of paying a premium it is a nice change to be able to fill up and save some money.”

Staff at the Sunnyholt Rd Metro petrol station said drivers had lined up to take advantage of the cheap fuel.”

At Blacktown Rd petrol was 95 cents a litre at the Caltex and Speedway petrol stations.

In Doonside it was 98 cents a litre at the Metro petrol station on Hill End Rd.

Sydney’s cheapest unleaded petrol was at Marsfield Caltex which had E10 Unleaded for 92.2 cents per litre
