An axe has been used in two armed robberies at Logan service stations overnight, which police believe are linked.

In the first robbery, three men entered a Chatswood Road service station and approached the attendant, the Queensland Police Service said in a statement.

One of them produced what looked to be an axe, and demanded money and cigarettes. The attendant complied and the group fled the scene.

They were last seen in a maroon Mazda SUV on Paradise Road, heading towards the Pacific Motorway.

The second robbery happened about 1.15am at a service station on Beenleigh-Beaudesert Road in Mount Warren Park.

Again, three men entered the service station and one produced an axe.

The man with the axe jumped over the counter, kicked the male attendant and demanded cash. The attendant complied and the group fled the scene with cash.

The attendant suffered minor injuries to his shoulder.

Police investigations into the robberies are ongoing.
