A service station employee was threatened with a stick in an armed robbery of a service station in Fairfield yesterday evening.

Police say the 29-year-old employee was assisting a man in the service station at about 7.40pm when the customer produced a stick and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The man then forced his way behind the counter and left with cash and cigarettes. Nobody was injured.

Police are searching for a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries who is described as being of Asian appearance, thin build, aged in his early 20s, and last seen wearing a black hooded jumper and black tracksuit pants.
