BP is disrupting the fuel retail sector with its latest Australian-first initiative BPMe, the smartphone payment technology which allows consumers to purchase fuel from the convenient comfort of their own vehicle.
The BPMe app is the first of its kind in Australia and is set to revolutionise the way drivers refuel. The app gives BP Plus card customers the power to pay for their fuel, track their odometer, store electronic fuel receipts and locate their closest BP service station, all from their smartphones.
“Providing a simpler and faster way to fill up, BPMe will allow customers to enjoy the best possible refueling experience by giving time back and conveniently making payment from the comfort of their own vehicle,” said VP Sales and Marketing, Brooke Miller.
“Smartphone penetration rates in Australia are some of the highest in the world and mobile payment solutions are what our customers have been demanding. It’s the way of the future and BP is at the front of this innovation,” said Miller.
“We recognise the importance of mobile and card-less payments to this customer base and we understand the need for faster transaction times and easier payment processes.
Ultimately, we’re giving time back to our customers by delivering a faster way to refuel.”
“BPMe will be piloted to a select group of highly valued BP Plus card customers in August. We look forward to inviting more customers in the coming months and developments into the future.
There are endless opportunities for BPMe and we are excited to bring this new digital offer to the Australian market,” Ms Miller concluded.
