Wingecarribee Council will be issuing a number of notices to the Proprietor of a service Station in Bowral after a large diesel spill.

Since the spill on Bong Bong Street, council is now in the process of trying to assess the damage and ensure proper spill prevention measures are put in place by the owner.

The matter was reported to council on Wednesday by a passing pedestrian despite the incident occurring 16 hours beforehand.

Fire and Rescue Crews and a Hazmat specialist were called to mop the leak up.Senior Ranger Troy McGlynn says they intend taking action.

In the meantime Mr. McGlynn is urging other service Station owners to contact Emergency Services straight away if a similar situation occurs.
