A YOUNG teenager stands accused of being a serial armed robber, allegedly targeting four service stations across Newcastle with a knife in just over three weeks.

Newcastle City detectives arrested the 14-year-old on Thursday night.

He is alleged to have been part of armed robberies at the 7-Eleven at Maryville on December 10 and January 2, the Metro service station at Islington on December 16 and the Caltex service station at Lambton on December 28.

On each occasion, a console operator was threatened with a knife.

The boy was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Childrens Court via video link from Newcastle on Friday.

The hunt continues for the boy’s alleged accomplices.
