A MAN in a “Ghostface” mask from the movie Scream is on the loose in Darwin after pulling a gun at the Casuarina Caltex service station and making off with $41 in fuel early Saturday morning.

NT Police are asking for the public’s assistance in tracking him down.

Around 5:30am, the Caltex operator had asked a customer who arrived for his Saturday morning newspaper to get the registration of a car at the pumps that hadn’t paid for fuel.

When the customer approached the car, the man in the Ghostface threatened him with a firearm.

NT Police said they are investigating.

“The offender in the vehicle, who it is alleged was wearing a white Scream mask, produced a firearm and threatened this fellow,” said Duty Supt Rob Farmer. “It was some sort of long arm. He threatened the man and then drove off.”

NT Police Serious Crimes division is investigating the robbery. A list of suspects was not released.

The suspect is described as being of indigenous appearance, wearing a white t-shirt with a print on the front, dark shorts and black and white runners.

The vehicle was not displaying any front registration plates at the time and it is not yet known if the vehicle was stolen, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
