A TERRFIED worker locked herself in a safe room as men armed with hammers smashed their way into a service station in Melbourne’s northeast this morning.
The female attendant was confronted by three armed men as they broke into the BP service station in Diamond Creek at 4.35am.
They used hammers to smash their way into the service station before taking off with the cash till.
Victoria Police spokesman Ian Geddes said the worker locked herself in a secure room to escape the violent offenders.
She was not injured.
