POLICE are searching for a man who held up the Caltex Service Station at Invermay with a knife.

The armed robber entered the Invermay Rd service station at 9pm last night and demanded cash.

He left with an undisclosed quantity of money, and was last seen heading towards Elm St.

Detective Sergeant Phillippa Burk said the man had arrived and left the service station on foot and appeared to have acted alone.

She said the man was described as about 180cm tall, slim build, and with dark facial stubble. He was wearing a dark hoodie and navy pants.

She said the face covering he wore made it difficult to estimate his age.

She said the female employee of the service station was left shaken by the incident.
