More than $16,000 worth of cash and cigarettes have been stolen during an early morning ram raid in Bannockburn.

The Shell service station on the Midland Highway was targeted by two men around 2.30 this morning.

Sergeant Steve Bull says the offenders used a car to smash into a roller door on the side of the business.

The two men also took off with ice-creams. Sergeant Bull says they are hoping to hear from anyone who may have heard or seen something in the area leading up to and around the robbery.
