A boy has been charged with armed robbery after allegedly holding up a Gold Coast service station with a toy gun.
The 13-year-old entered the 7-Eleven at Upper Coomera and demanded cigarettes about 6pm while another boy, 13, waited outside.
When the shop attendant refused, the teenager pulled out a toy gun, police alleged.
A shopper grabbed the youth, who kicked and allegedly smashed a glass window during the struggle before police arrived.
He was arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery and wilful damage.
No one was injured.
He was in custody and expected to front the Childrens Court Brisbane on Wednesday morning.
The other teenager who waited outside was not charged.
