It’s not just retail outlets and supermarkets offering Christmas Eve specials today.
Perth’s average fuel price is $1.162 a litre, with the cheapest unleaded petrol going for $1.093/l, according to Fuel Watch.
The last time fuel was this cheap or cheaper was on September 4 last year when it was selling for $1.156/l.
Today’s lowest prices can be found at Caltex Woolworths Greenwood and Caltex Woolworths Mirrabooka in Perth’s north, as well as Caltex Woolworths Maddington West and Caltex Woolworths Warnbro to the south.
There have been reports of long lines of cars wanting to make the most of the cheap prices.
But for a few cents more, drivers could perhaps bypass the queue and fill up at outlets around the city selling unleaded for $1.11-$1.12 a litre. There are 252 outlets offering fuel at or below the average of $1.162/l.
After a record high price of $1.655/l on average in the city on October 16, the fuss is understandable.
Diesel’s average price across the metro area is pretty standard at $1.469/l, but there are fuel stations selling it for $1.219-$1.299/l.
The cheapest diesel can be found at United Bassendean, which is selling it for $1.219/l.
Tomorrow, Perth’s average fuel price will climb 19 cents a litre to $1.358/l, with some sites selling ULP for up to $1.429/l.
The cheapest unleaded petrol will by $1.099/l at United Bassendean and United Ellenbrook in the north, $1.113/l at United Armadale in the south and $1.137/l at Puma High Wycombe in the east.
