THREE masked men pulled off an armed robbery in Valentine overnight.

About 2.15am Tuesday a car stopped outside a petrol station and garage on Macquarie Road.

Three men with face coverings got out of the car and forced entry into the business.

They threatened the employee on duty with a knife, before fleeing the scene with a small amount of cash and cigarettes.

Police were called to the scene. They have since located the vehicle, a Subaru, believed to have been used in the robbery. It is undergoing forensic testing.

The search is still on for the three men who were believed to be in their late teens to early 20s.
