AMP Capital executive manager, originations (real estate), Hadyn Stephens has been appointed the new chief executive of Viva Energy REIT.
Stephens will take over from Margaret Kennedy who will step down during the first half of 2020 after overseeing the establishment of petrol station property trust, its listing on the ASX in 2016 and growing the portfolio from $2.1 billion at IPO to $2.5 billion as at December 2018.
“I am incredibly proud to have led Viva Energy REIT through such a successful period and I feel now is the right time to hand over the baton and pursue new opportunities,” Kennedy said.
Viva chair Laurence Brindle paid tribute to the outgoing CEO.
“We would like to thank Margaret for her contribution to Viva Energy REIT’s success and wish her well in her future endeavours. We also welcome Mr Stephens’s appointment and look forward to working closely with him to guide Viva Energy REIT through the next stage of its development.” Brindle said.
Stephens is expected to commence in September to ensure an orderly transition.
He joins from AMP Capital, where he was most recently executive manager of originations (real estate). Prior to that, he was head of transactions with Centuria Capital. He also worked at Stockland, LaSalle Investment Management and GPT. He brings over 20 years’ experience in finance and real estate.
