HUNDREDS of motorists are set to race to one Brisbane petrol station as fuel drops to a record low this morning.
To celebrate the Shell V-Power Racing team success, Shell Coles Express on Beatty Road in Rocklea will drop its fuel to just 81 cents a litre from 10-11am this morning.
“They’re dropping the price of fuel to 81c because it represents the number of race wins and pole positions from the Shell V-Power Racing Team since 2017,” Account Executive William Gherardin said.
“Last year we ran the same campaign in Melbourne and there were about 200 cars who fuelled up. We expect a lot more this time around in Rocklea because it’s a popular Brisbane location.
Supercars champion Scott McLaughlin and Fabian Coulthard will also be on-site for celebrations.
“We’ve had a really strong run of success as the Shell V-Power Racing Team,” Scott McLaughlin said.
“To share this achievement with our fans today and provide them with the opportunity to buy fuel at just 81 cents per litre makes it really special for everyone.”
