A Caltex servo worker has been threatened with a knife during a terrifying armed robbery in Kew.

Eastern divisional crime team detectives have released CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to about the March 25 holdup.

Police spokeswoman Nikki Ladgrove said a man entered the Willsmere Rd service station about 10.15pm and confronted a staff member with a knife, demanding cash.

“The victim complied and the man took a quantity of cash before fleeing on foot,” Ms Ladgrove said.

She said the man is described as in his 20s, with a medium build and facial hair.

He was wearing a blue Super Dry zip-up jacket, grey Bonds tracksuit pants and blue runners.

The same service station was also targeted in January when a man allegedly armed with a hammer, attempted to rob the store.

The would-be thief fled empty-handed and no-one was injured.
