Police are on the hunt for a man who robbed OTR McRitchie on Saturday armed with a pair of scissors.

The man entered the service station on Saturday and threatened an attendant before stealing money and leaving.

The female attendant received an injury to her hand from the scissors during the robbery and was treated by paramedics on the scene.

The suspect is described as a man about 183cm tall, with a slim build and covering his face with a black and white t-shirt. He was wearing a dark blue puffer jacket, cream or tan chinos and black and white shoes.

He was last seen heading down Pine Street towards Booth Street on foot.

Whyalla CIB detectives are investigating the robbery and crime scene investigators are attending the scene.
