Soletair Power has designed, built and installed a new air filtration and purification system that removes harmful carbon dioxide from the air and turns it into useable fuel.
The Finland-based company today announced the power to fuels production process which combines the air we breath out with energy to produce fuel.
With the installation of its system, Soletair Power hopes to make public and workspaces healthier by taking thee climate-alerting carbon out of the air.
Soletair Power’s solution positions itself within the carbon capture and utilisation market, as well as the workplace health and wellness and business productivity markets.
Dr Cyril Bajamundi of Soletair Power, said, “This is not science fiction, it’s science. It’s not something we can do, it’s something we are doing.”
“We built it. It is working, right now in Finland, taking carbon out of the air and generating fuel – a triple-whammy of health, efficiency and significant environmental impact.”
A working Soletair Power unit has been installed at the company’s offices in Lappeenranta, Finland. Another unit has already been sold, but the customer name has not been disclosed.
The system will be demonstrated at the Dubai 2020 World Expo, which has now been postponed to 2021.
At the event, the display will turn CO2 from the air exhaled by visitors into power used to run coffee machines in the Pavilion, delivering free coffee to guests.
Petri Laakso, CEO of Soletair Power, said, “We are excited to share our breakthrough in the world in Dubai. But we cannot wait.”
“We have a product that’s good for business and good for the environment at the same time. Something that will make someone’s work better and help them work better.”
