The Sharjah Police have referred an Asian driver to the Public Prosecution, over crashing into the refueling machines of a petrol station in the Emirate of Sharjah, on Tuesday evening.
The driver was reportedly driving recklessly at an excessive speed that led his vehicle swerving out of control and crashing into the petrol station.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Sharjah Police, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, revealed that a report was received at the operations room, at 11:45 pm on Tuesday, stating that a vehicle crashed into a petrol station locating on Al-Ittihad Road.
Instantly, the traffic patrols and national ambulance rushed to scene to find the cause of the accident, Al Shamsi added.
He indicated that the vehicle was being driven by an Asian, in his 20s, who allegedly lost control of the car because of driving at an excessive speed, which caused its sudden swerving and crashing into the refueling machines.

The accident caused serious material damage to the petrol station. Two staffers were injured, Al Shamsi said.
He noted that following interrogation of the driver and completion of the necessary procedures regarding the incident, he was referred to the Public Prosecution to continue the legal procedures.
Al Shamsi appealed to road users to adhere to the specified speeds on the roads, not to be distracted by other than the road while driving, and to follow the indicative signs, in order to avoid accidents.
