A DEVELOPMENT application for a 24-hour unstaffed fuel station in Alice Springs will be heard before the Territory’s development authority body today.

The application proposes the development will operate 24 hours, seven days a week and accommodate vehicles up to 53 metres in length (triple road trains).

The facility will be an unmanned diesel (only) refuelling station for retail business and private customers.

Entry/exit is proposed to be one-way via Shirley Court and leaving by Dowdy Court.

An above ground storage tank will be located near the southern boundary and will supply fuel to the dispenser through underground pipes.

The site is currently used for vehicle parking and outdoor storage for a local transport

company.

There is an existing office building (and caretaker dwelling) and several ancillary

structures and buildings (two of which are presently vacant).

It will be heard by the Development Committee Authority today.
