A number of vehicles have broken down as a result of contaminated fuel in Cornwall.

Cornish Garage Bodmin confirmed it was draining unleaded fuel and replacing it in customers’ vehicles after the delivery yesterday evening (Monday January 4) caused cars to break down.

Posting to Facebook it said: “To our customers who may of had unleaded fuel from us this morning and have had problems with you car, please do not hesitate to contact us for further help if needed.

“We had a delivery of fuel from Texaco yesterday evening and we have been informed the fuel was contaminated.https://get-latest.convrse.media/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cornwalllive.com%2Fnews%2Fcornwall-news%2Fcars-breaking-down-because-contaminated-4856824&cre=center&cip=7&view=web

“Whilst we are driving round collecting those that are broken down – please call if you are stuck and we will come & get you.”

An employee at the Texaco garage on Dennison Road in Bodmin confirmed that it was not affected and they knew nothing about the incident.

Texaco has been contacted for a comment and more information about any other garages that may be affected.
