A 55-year-old Moranbah man has been charged with stealing in relation to the alleged theft of a large quantity of fuel from a local mine site.

At approximately 2am on January 31, Dysart Police attended the site on Saraji Road to execute a search warrant on a small truck within the car park of the victim business.

A search of the truck located four pods each containing approximately 1,000L of fuel.

Police will allege that during the shift, the man has driven his personal truck onto the site and used a fork lift to load the four pods of fuel.

He has then returned the truck to the mine car park and continued with his work duties.

The man is scheduled to appear in the Moranbah Magistrates Court on March 11.
